Library Cards

Library Cards are FREE and may be used at the library in English.
To obtain a Library Card, bring proof that you live in Crawford County and a photo ID.
If you don't reside in Crawford County and would like a Library Card the following fees apply.
Non-Resident Fee for a Family Card is $25.00.
PLAC cards are also available for $50.00. This can be used anywhere in Indiana.
PLAC cards are good for one year from date of purchase.
You must be an Indiana Resident to apply for a PLAC card.

Computers

The library has 14 public access computers for adults and 2 for children. The computers for adults have Microsoft Office 2010 installed. Internet Usage Agreement. Our Internet is filtered in compliance to the Children’s Internet Protection Act.
The computers shutdown 1/2 hour before closing time.

Free Wi-Fi

The library has wi-fi available 24/7. To access the Internet while in the library, connect to CCPL-IN. To access the Internet while in our parking lot, connect to CCPL-Out.

Historical Records

The library has an extensive collection of historical documents that will help in your genealogy research.

The Crawford County Historical and Genealogical Society Web site is located at www.cchgs.org

Newspaper Archives - English News Messenger, Crawford County Democrat, and The Clarion.

Cemetery records include a list of cemeteries in the county, including maps an directions and often a listing of names and dates of grave sites.

There are a limited number of Death Records indexed from records of the Crawford County Health Department.

Inter-Library Loan ( ILL )

Looking for a book that the library does not have? Ask the library staff about the Inter-Library Loan policy. For the cost of shipping (usually free) the Crawford County Public Library can get the book you need by borrowing it from another library in the state. The book is shipped directly to CCPL for you. Library staff will call you when your requested material arrives. Check with the library staff for more details about this great service.
